8:30 Breakfast
12:30 Lunch
1:30 Wildlife Exam
5:30 Marine Biology
7:30 Dinner
9:00 SCUBA Class
I spent the morning alternating between studying and swimming. Our Wildlife Conservation Exam was right after lunch. "This is the first exam I've written sitting in a bathing suit with sand between my toes!" Being a marine biology major, a lot of the marine bio. class material was repeat from what I'd already studied. The evening's scuba class was interesting and I was really looking forward to getting started! At dinner there was a barbecue on the beach, being a vegetarian I didn't have any of the roasted pig. There were Masai Warriors who came to perform at the resort. "It was culturally very different from what we've seen previously. They did four dances, jumping and fighting demonstrations. They pulled some people up to dance with them. I'm glad that we had the opportunity to see "real" Masai Warriors in the Masai Mara." 10 years ago today I appreciated the difference between an authentic experience and a tourist experience.
