Setting Moon
Game Drive
When I woke up I saw the moon setting, it was so lovely and a great way to start the day. We all huddled on the trucks, it was a chilly morning. we were heading to an area with good game, so we drove quickly. We watched the sun rise from the truck, it was beautiful! "We saw lots of game, dik-diks, giraffes, zebra by the millions, gazelle, impala's, ostrich (boy they're big!), wildebeests and even an elephant! There were little birds all around us, they weren't regular brown birds but beautiful iridescent blue birds. They were swooping all around us feeding on the bugs we were disturbing. It was a successful 8 hour game drive!"
After lunch five of us got our turn to go horseback riding. The woman who owns the ranch we're camping on has some horses. At her stables we picked out our horses; I rode Jack, he was a beautiful brown colour. We followed the trail through the bush. "The scenery was wonderful, dry tall savanna grass and flat topped acacia trees. It was such an enjoyable ride." The woman had an orphaned Eland that they've raised, she licked my hand - her tongue was black! 10 years ago today I enjoyed the wildlife of Kenya both from afar and up close!
